Passionate about media and the arts? Multimedia Production at Mt. Pleasant High School gives you an insider’s experience while providing a robust education. You’ll have access to high-quality facilities, caring and knowledgeable staff, and the academic and professional learning opportunities that prepare you for college and beyond.

Hands-on, project-based learning lets you experience and develops core film and motion graphics fundamentals while exploring real-world opportunities available to you in the media arts.

ABC 7 Now – Building a Better Bay Area

Mt. Pleasant High School’s Multimedia Pathway teaches you to:

  • Operate professional video camera equipment
  • Use audio, and lighting equipment
  • Create motion graphics, a documentary, music videos and more
  • Create graphic design products with digital media software
  • Edit video and audio into a compelling story
  • Learn professional camera operations and film with proper composition and exposure for still images and video

Students who have completed the Multimedia Academy have gone on to:

  • Develop their own private businesses
  • Join Silicon Valley Fortune 500 companies
  • Work for Marketing and Advertising Agencies
  • Attend college (NYU, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, San Jose State, SFSU, Clark Atlanta University)

Grow leadership and technical skills as you engage with the professional world. Opportunities include:

  • Competing in local and national and international media contests and film festivals
  • Exhibiting work at local art galleries and organizations
  • Field trips to Cisco, Netflix, Adobe
  • Learn professional networking skill from LinkedIn
  • Dual enrollment with Foothill Community College (earn up to 11 units college credit)
  • Internships with SJ WORKS and CreaTV
  • Film and design for real local clients in real-world projects including for local technology companies, businesses, community organizations, and our school community
