Accelerating Silicon Valley’s Global Growth, Locally.

How does Silicon Valley deal with the critical shortage of skilled workers? Thanks to Career Pathways, innovative companies can partner with ESUHSD and develop talent locally. The assistance and guidance that our partners provide students throughout high school will translate into well-qualified and well-informed individuals upon graduation.

Career Pathways has already benefited students and employers alike. In 2019, our partner employers were so satisfied with intern performance that:

98%

of participating employers were overall satisfied with the program

92%

of participating employers are likely to host an intern again next summer

Businesses get a pipeline of skilled workers. But what’s in it for students?

When students sign up for Career Pathways, they get to explore what their field of interest looks like in the real-world. They connect their learning to the world of work and are mentored by professionals. They get to learn and apply the skillsets needed to thrive in the workforce.

Most of all, they get to feel they’re learning something highly relevant while creating their unique path to a successful future.

97% of participating students rated the program as excellent, very good, or good

I interned at Hayes Mansion and had a chance to shadow various departments. I was exposed to the stress of wedding days and saw how the general manager always remained completely professional and calm. I learned how to learned how to acquire a great deal of poise and provide outstanding customer service. I also interned under most of the executives, became quite competent in Synxix, Delphi and Opera and experienced important sales and marketing meetings.

I came to understand one of my main reasons Hayes Mansion is such a flourishing business is because all the associates maintain a high level of respect for one another. That is the key to success of any workplace, and I will always remember that.
