Competition Details

Multimedia students will be creating marketing campaigns to promote the Spartan East Side Promise and CTE Pathways. They will be divided into 6 separate mini-marketing agencies. Each group will create an original video campaign and launch it on social media. The competition has multiple categories to win awards in, from most creative to most likes, etc.

Final Deliverables

1 Minute
Video
Each group creates a single 1 minute video to submit for the competition.
15 Second
Video
Students will work in groups of 2. You’ll collaborate with someone from another group, creatively combining your footage to create a short new video.
Social Media
Campaigns
For each video, groups and students will create social media marketing campaigns.

Spartan Spotlight

Students will highlight how the Spartan East Side Promise works and inspire viewers to learn more. By the end of the video, viewers should have a good idea how to use the program to get into San Jose State University and will know next steps 
to take.

Branding

Students must follow Eastside branding guidelines.

CTE Pathways

Students will focus on bringing one of the CTE Pathways to life. Whether you dove into construction or car maintenance, by the end of the video viewers will feel excited by what this program offers and eager to enroll.

Students must meet all deadlines to be considered.

No matter what platform, students will compete in the following categories:

Most Liked

Your video has so many likes it almost broke the internet.

Best Soundtrack

You’ve hit the volume just right so it’s easy to hear what people are saying and the sounds you include create energy.

Best Editing

Your shots are well composed and you bring the viewer from scene to scene.

Best Script

Your story is important, moving and slightly unexpected.
